Snow Puppy

We took Penny out to play in the snow today. She loved it. Here are some pics.

We are having a wonderful time in Wisconsin relaxing and spending time with the Augusts. I am feeling back to normal after my surgery also (although my doctor said no heavy lifting for a while).

Hope you all have a great day!

Adios Appendix!

Well, the last two days have been a little dramatic. Tuesday at lunch time I started feeling some stomach pain. I assumed it was an upset tummy and went about my day though. It was weird because it felt like I had done a thousand sit-ups the day before, when in actuality, I had done no exercising. My whole abdomen was sore. Something felt a little off.

When I got to Jason's after work, things just started to feel progressively worse. By 8 pm or so, the pain was really localized to my lower right abdomen. We researched appendicitis on the internet and by 11 pm or so, decided it would be best to go to the ER and get me checked out.

Well, after a CT scan around 1 am or so, we were told that I definitely had appendicitis. Luckily, we went in early enough to where it had not ruptured yet. I was moved into a hospital room and at 6:45 am a surgeon came by to tell me he was ready to remove my appendix. He was able to remove it lathroscopicly which basically means he only had to make 3 incisions (1 in my belly button, 1 just above it, and 1 just below it). I must admit, i was a little nervous to have the surgery, since I don't think I had ever been put under before. I was in good hands though and everything went smoothly.

The most terrible part of the entire ordeal was the soreness from the CO2 they pump into your body cavity during the surgery. Holy crud did it leave me sore. When I had to stand for the first time after the surgery, I felt like someone ran over me with a car.

I was released this morning at around 11 am from the hospital, and I am starting to feel a lot better already. My sweet fiance has been taking wonderful care of me and I have loved all the kind messages I got from friends and family.

Ok, I'm exhausted, so I'm off to bed. Merry Christmas!

5 Months to Go!!

Our wedding is 5 months from today. Crazy. We are so busy with all the details that it's almost surreal to think that the day will be here in a few short months.

We still have an overwhelming amount of work to do, but hopefully we can get everything completed. Weddings are such an ordeal!

Sorry for the lame post, but I just wanted to say hi. Hope your thanksgiving is great. I know that I am thankful for all the huge blessings in my life (Jason, my fam, my job, my pets, my friends). There are so many people that may be struggling this time of year, so I am definitely humbled by how blessed I am.

Ok enough mushy stuff. Hope you all get to eat some delicious goodies thursday. May I recommend Patti LaBelle's ridiculously amazing "Over the Rainbow" mac and cheese?

YOUR WELCOME.

Hello Gorgeous!!!

My vacuum has been less than sufficient for some time now. So this weekend, Jason and I caved and bought this beauty since it was on sale at Macy's.
It was slightly painful to pay that much for a vacuum, but holy moly is this thing great. I could not believe how much stuff it sucked up off the floor. Everyone says that Dysons last forever, so I am hopeful that ours will too!

I won't go into too much detail, but the ULF5 mission has slipped out until 11/30. (Thus the blogpost). You can check www.spaceflightnow.com for updates about what's going on. There is a hydrogen leak in a vent line and some cracked foam on the external tank. I think that Discovery is NOT wanting to fly its final voyage yet.

This Thursday marks the start of the Houston annual Nutcracker Market. My mom has been going for a long time, and about 3 years ago, I started going with her. It's fun to take the day off and have some quality mother daughter time. For those of you that don't know what the market is, it's a MASSIVE craft market. It's not just handmade stuff. There are clothes and food and all kinds of fun goodies. My mom and I walk the entire place (it takes up all of the Reliant center).

Alright, going to get back to address save the dates!

Lots to catch up on

It's been ages since my last post. I am such a boring blogger! I am going to blame work. We are ~1.5 months away from STS 133, so my life is a bit crazy.

Since we last talked, Jason and I went to Wisconsin for his Grandpa's 80th birthday. It was great to see all of his extended family and to get a little time at the lake. Wisconsin in the summer is wonderful.

In other fun, on my most recent trip to Kennedy Space Center I got to go inside the Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) and Space Shuttle Endeavour! Let me try and communicate the awesomeness of this more clearly. The PMM is a module that will be launched in November and added on as a "room" to the International Space Station. Not only did I get to go inside it, but I got to sign my name on an inside wall as well. My signature will be on the space station :). As great as i t was to go inside the PMM, I have actually been in a few modules before. Getting to go inside a space shuttle, was truly incredible. Words cannot describe it, so I will let pictures try. (First are the pics of me in PMM).

And for those of you who are curious, a picture of the Space Shuttle Toliet. Enjoy.

Back from the busy-ness...

Well not really... I am still very busy, but I haven't blogged in a few weeks because things have been a little crazy. I have been in Florida for work and haven't really stayed put for a weekend in a while. Things aren't slowing down though. Jason and I leave for Wisconsin this week. We are very excited to spend some time with the Augusts and to celebrate Jason's Grandpa's 80th birthday. (We are also looking forward to a break from the 100 degree weather).

I don't know about you guys, but I am beyond excited about the proximity of football season. In a few short weeks, my Saturdays will be completely overcome by college football. LOVE IT.

I am not feeling very chatty, so I am going to wrap this up. Apologies for the dullness. I will try and pick it up next time.

April 23rd!!

Hi friends! My friend Caroline put a video from our engagement session on her blog. It's lots of fun, so go check it (and her) out....

We had a good weekend. Friday we just hung out with friends and then Saturday J and I met my parents in Austin to check out a wedding venue. The place is called Camp Lucy, and we all fell in love with it instantly. Sooooo.....

We have a date now! Our wedding will be April 23, 2011 at Camp Lucy. Here's a pic of our beautiful venue. We cannot wait!

It will be Easter weekend (Easter is 4/24), so some friends may not be able to make it. But, that was the only Saturday left in April, and we do not want our guests to melt at our outdoor wedding!

Lots to do at work this week, so I will do my best to blog again in a few days!

Hook 'em Blake

This post is dedicated to my dear friend Blake who is leaving NASA to get an MBA from UT. Since the day I started at NASA, Blake has been a big brother to me and we have been great friends. If you know Blake, then you know how crazy, off the wall, and incredibly awesome he is. It is definitely going to be sad to not have him around to talk to at work. The good news is he will not be far away at all, and it's another excuse to go visit Austin!

Blake, I wish you all the best in Austin, and I know that you will kick butt at UT! You will be missed!

busy busy

Sorry it's been a while! I was at Kennedy Space Center for work and then it was a jam packed weekend. I went to a bridal expo (overwhelming, but fun) with my momma and then jason and I went to see wicked (SO GOOD). We also had a scavenger hunt for my friend Blake who is leaving NASA and heading to UT for his MBA (hook 'em). I will miss him big time. He is a brother to me.

I am going to keep this short because I am exhausted, but tomorrow the amazing Caroline Fontenot is taking our engagement pictures. She's wonderful, and you all should check her out (www.carolinefontenot.com).

For all of you that love music, download "Dog Days are Over" by Florence and the Machines

I will leave you with a cute picture of penny, because she is cute.

New Name

So I have had the blog one day, and I already changed the name. Equal props to Jason and Jehon for both coming up with the name Pamelot individually. Pamelot.blogspot.com was already taken, so pam-e-lot it is.

I just got back from dinner and a movie with my good friend Sara. We saw Eclipse. Non twilight fans, go ahead and judge us, but I don't care. 'Twas wonderful. I thought the wigs on some of the actors looked pretty ridiculous (seriously, your budget is huge!), but I still loved every second of it. Makes me want to re-read the books. Speaking of books, for those of you that I haven't told already, you have to read the Hunger Games. They are such good books (guys like them too! they aren't lovey dovey like Twilight books, but they are still in the Young Adult section). I need to pre-order the final book of the series (it comes out end of August). You will not be disappointed, and the books are total page turners, so they are enjoyable for non-readers.

Hope everyone had a good 4th of July. Jason and I had no plans at all, but it ended up being awesome. The weather was great, and we could see the Friendswood fireworks show from Jason's back patio. We relaxed in the backyard for a few hours and played guitar. We both haven't played in a really long time, so it was fun to pick it back up.

I got a request for more patio pictures, so here you go!

Hellooooooo out there

Hi everyone! (or maybe just the 5 people that end up reading this)

Well, I've decided to start a blog. I would have started one months ago, but I couldn't think of a name for the life of me! Jason suggested this one, and I am just unable to be creative in this arena, so it is what it is.

I will try my best to blog frequently especially since this is a very exciting time in my life (Jason and I recently got engaged), and it would be great to document everything. Wedding planning and being in charge of an upcoming shuttle flight for my group may make things a little bit difficult, but I will try.

We are working on a wedding website, so I will link it here once we have it ready. Other than that, it's been a very relaxing Independence Day weekend. Mary and Andy are out of town, so Jason and I are taking care of their Yorkie pups, Cash and Paisley, which are our puppy's brother and sister. They are hilarious to watch. They constantly cycle between fighting over toys, chasing bugs, and napping. Gosh it must be great to nap that much. Here's a pic of Penny.

On Friday night, Jason and I met some great friends for dinner at BRC in town. It was delicious, and so great to see David, Emily, Jackie, and Megan. Let's do it again soon guys!

When Jason was mowing his lawn today he found this massive spider. It was the size of his palm! Just thought I would share because it is terrifying. Not sure if it's poisonous, but Jason killed it, so that's good (sorry Jackie).

I'll include one more picture of Jason's beautiful backyard. We just put the patio in not long ago!
